Job summary

Curtin University Malaysia is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Energy to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision, and impactful research in energy engineering.

The role emphasizes teaching excellence, research leadership, and engagement with industry, with responsibilities across teaching, supervision, and service in the Department of Chemical and Energy.

Qualifications

• PhD in energy-related research or MSc with energy focus and engineering background.
• Bachelor degree recognised by Washington Accord signatories.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Chartered Engineer or eligible for registration.
• Industry background in energy and reservoir engineering desirable.
• Proven teaching experience at tertiary level and supervision of higher degree research.
• Strong research output in refereed journals.
• Proficiency in online teaching tools and modern pedagogical practices.
• Ability to develop research funding proposals and lead a team.
• Excellent written and spoken English; cross-cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching face-to-face and online.
• Design, assess and provide timely feedback on student learning.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development and improvement initiatives.
• Conduct high-quality research and maintain an active publication record.
• Develop research proposals and seek funding.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD students.
• Engage with industry, professional bodies, and the wider community.
• Provide academic leadership appropriate to appointment level.
