OCBC e2 Power Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web or mobile applications, microservices, and APIs, collaborating with product, customer experience, and business teams.

The role emphasizes secure, reliable software solutions and a strong background in Java and Spring ecosystem. The candidate should be proficient in RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and various databases, with experience in

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Application Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Three to five or more years of experience in full-stack or back-end software development.
Strong proficiency in Java17 or later.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related Spring technologies.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Experience with version-control systems, preferably Bitbucket or Git.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
Understanding of OAuth2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, and secure coding practices.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain robust back-end services, microservices, & APIs.
Develop and integrate user-facing components with server-side applications.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and asynchronous integrations.
Develop event-driven services using Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar platforms.
Write clean, secure, maintainable, and efficient code.
Develop automated unit, API, integration, and regression tests.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Troubleshoot application, integration, and performance issues.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment configurations.
Deploy and support applications on container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Implement application logging, monitoring, and operational controls.
Apply secure coding and API security practices.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
Collaborate with product management, customer experience design, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
Understand product requirements, define technical solutions, and estimate the scope of work.
Maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, solution designs, and deployment procedures.
Keep up to date with relevant technologies and engineering practices.
