Job summary

Nicoll Curtin in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to design, develop, and deliver high-performance, secure enterprise applications for a leading international bank. You will work on backend systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native solutions within a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Java development, strong Spring Boot and Spring Framework skills, familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and modern containerization and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 8+ years hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong Java 11/17 and OOP knowledge.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security.
• RESTful API design and development experience.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and relational DBs.
• Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ/JMS messaging.
• Multithreading, concurrency, JVM tuning knowledge.
• Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes; cloud exposure.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and modern dev practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Build scalable microservices following best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with systems.
• Contribute to architectural design and technical decisions.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, tested code and adhere to standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across SDLC.
• Troubleshoot production issues and deploy sustainable fixes.
• Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in code reviews and mentorship.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automation.
