Job summary

Our client, a well-established organisation in the resources and industrial sector, is seeking a Senior HR Manager (Regional) to own the HR and Administration function. This permanent, full-time role is based onsite in Kuala Lumpur and reports directly to the CEO, offering strategic influence over people strategy and leadership team collaboration.

The candidate should have 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, 3–5 years in management, Malaysian labour law expertise, and strong English/Bahasa

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR and Administration team
• Set and track HR KPIs aligned to business performance
• Advise CEO and leadership on people, policy, and organisational matters
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation & benefits, performance management, and learning & development
• Manage employee relations, workplace culture and engagement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment law and statutory requirements
• Support organisational design, workforce planning, and change management
• Oversee administration, facilities, procurement and vendor relationships
• Liaise with government bodies, immigration authorities, insurers and auditors
• Contribute to manpower planning and cost optimisation

Our client, a well-established organisation in the resources and industrial sector, is looking for an experienced Senior HR Manager (Regional) to take full ownership of its HR and Administration function. This is a senior, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, offering the opportunity to shape people strategy while working closely with the leadership team. This is a permanent, full-time position based onsite in Kuala Lumpur.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and develop the HR and Administration team, optimising structure, workflows, and accountability as the business scales
• Set and track HR KPIs, ensuring initiatives are measurable and linked to business performance
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on people, policy, and organisational matters
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle — recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance management, and learning and development
• Manage employee relations, workplace culture, and engagement initiatives
• Ensure HR policies and practices remain fully compliant with Malaysian employment law and statutory requirements
• Support organisational design, workforce planning, and change management as the business grows
• Oversee general administration, office and facilities management, procurement, and vendor relationships
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as government bodies, immigration authorities, insurers, and auditors
• Contribute to broader business strategy through insights on manpower planning and cost optimisation

What We're Looking For

• At least 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years at managerial or department-head level
• Background in mining, manufacturing, resources, construction, or other industrial sectors is a plus
• Solid understanding of Malaysian labour law and statutory compliance
• Strong leadership and people development capabilities
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage
• High integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential matters
