Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to lead hands-on hardware development for power-quality and metering products in Johor Bahru. You will own board design, bring-up with firmware, testing, calibration, and certification with labs, collaborating with a small software/firmware team.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in hardware design, mixed-signal expertise, and a proven track record shipping board-level products.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in hardware design with multiple products shipped.
• Experience with mixed-signal circuits and precision measurement.
• Hands-on board bring-up and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with certification processes.

Responsabilités

• Design and review schematics, PCB layouts and BOMs for measurement, power and communication boards.
• Bring up and debug new boards at the bench with firmware engineer (JTAG, scope, logic analyser).
• Write test plans, build test fixtures and calibration rigs, and verify measurement accuracy.
• Prepare and pass certification with external labs: power-quality accuracy, EMC and safety, and heat-meter accuracy.
• Work with contract manufacturers and an ODM factory on DFM, golden samples, pilot builds and factory test.
• Keep design files, BOMs and releases under version control, and run simple design reviews.
• Turn field and production issues into design fixes and cost-downs.

Senior Hardware Engineer - Power Quality & Metering Products

We are an established engineering technology company that designs its own power-quality and energy-metering products. We are setting up a small hardware R&D base in Johor Bahru.

The role

You will be the hands-on hardware engineer behind three products: a Class A power-quality analyser in pilot production, its next-generation redesign, and a heat (BTU) meter made with an ODM partner. You design and review the hardware, bring up boards with our firmware engineer, and take the products through testing, calibration and certification into production. You work directly with the product owner and a small software and firmware team.

What you will do

• Design and review schematics, PCB layouts and BOMs for measurement, power and communication boards.
• Bring up and debug new boards at the bench with our firmware engineer (JTAG, scope, logic analyser).
• Write test plans, build test fixtures and calibration rigs, and verify measurement accuracy.
• Prepare and pass certification with external labs: power-quality accuracy, EMC and safety, and heat-meter accuracy.
• Work with contract manufacturers and an ODM factory on DFM, golden samples, pilot builds and factory test.
• Keep design files, BOMs and releases under version control, and run simple design reviews.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 10+ years of hands-on hardware design, with at least one board-level product shipped to volume production.
• Mixed-signal and measurement circuits (precision ADC, CT/VT inputs), isolation and power supplies.
• Board bring-up yourself; comfortable with JTAG and reading embedded C (STM32 or similar).
• Experience with test, calibration or product certification.

Good to have

• Power-quality, energy-metering, heat-meter or power-electronics products.
• Standards: IEC 61000-4-30 / IEC 62586, IEC 62053, EN 1434, IEC 61010, EMC (IEC 61000-4-x), SIRIM or CE.
• Zynq / FPGA boards, secure boot or crypto chips.
• RS485 / Modbus, M-Bus, Ethernet, 4G.
