Senior GL and P&L Accounting Analyst

Job summary

CMA CGM FICOM (Finance Corporate Office Malaysia) seeks a capable GL Accountant to perform general ledger duties, prepare monthly journals, and analyze BS and PnL for reporting to Corporate and Region stakeholders.

You will consolidate financial data, support monthly closures, and liaise with auditors while ensuring accuracy and timeliness across reports. Strong Excel, SAP knowledge, and a proactive, detail-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant.
• Professional degree (CAP/ACCA/CA) preferred.
• 3–4 years of related work experience.
• 1–2 years of audit background preferred and add advantage.
• Experience in Shared Service Center is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of SAP or consolidation tools is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Team player, able to work independently and with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare JE accurately and timely; propose HLAs when needed.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure accruals are justified and posted.
• Analyze P&L and BS schedules; investigate significant items.
• Consolidate and timely submit reporting to supervisors and regions.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports and statutory accounts.
• Handle ad-hoc requests from stakeholders and corporate teams.
• Coordinate with Process Owners and Country Controllers for payments.
• Liaise with external auditors to resolve issues.
• Back up team members for daily tasks and ad-hoc assignments.
