Job summary

Pestec International Berhad in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Finance – General Ledger to oversee the General Ledger function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in General Ledger, financial reporting, and FP&A is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of month-end closing, financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the General Ledger function with accurate recording of financial transactions across entities.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
• Review GL accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions for accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports, management accounts, and variance analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; analyze actual vs budgets/forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax teams, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency; support system improvements.
