Job summary

DHI GBS Malaysia is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to deliver accurate General Ledger accounting, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role provides strong accounting support, resolves complex matters, strengthens controls, and contributes to standardisation and continuous improvement across the group.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in GL/R2R, IFRS knowledge, and experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and local statutory accounting requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years of General Ledger, financial reporting and R2R experience.
• Experience in SSC/GBS environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all General Ledger (GL) entries are booked accurately, on time, and in accordance with local legislation, applicable accounting standards, and DHI guidelines.
• Prepare or support statutory and tax reporting requirements (VAT, GST, income tax, etc.) in coordination with tax advisers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support annual audits and statutory reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and bank reconciliations; resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Allocate costs to departments, projects, business units and cost centers.
• Provide technical accounting support and assist with financial and management reporting.
• Prepare financial statements, review trial balances, and investigate unusual balances.
• Support month-end closing and improve efficiency of financial close processes.
• Review systems and procedures; propose improvements, standardisation and automation opportunities.
• Support budgeting/forecasting and cash flow forecasting and payroll accounting.
