Job summary

DIGITAL BRIGHT TECHNOLOGIES in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks a Senior Functional Solution Analyst to translate business requirements into IT functional designs and drive end-to-end solution delivery. • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience as a business / functional solution analyst in one or multiple IT areas.
• Experience in hands on functional design, prototyping, testing and other implementation activities.
• Knowledgeable of core banking product and system integration.
• Experienced in gathering, analysing business requirements, followed by assessing system impact, developing system functional solution design alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Clarify and translate business requirements into IT system functional requirements and flows.
• Collaborate with business users and delivery teams to develop scalable IT solutions, study business and system impact, create user stories, functional design, test strategy, and post-live support.
• Understand business context, identify gaps, and update business requirement documents covering needs, compliance, data governance and security.
• Familiar with existing IT system functionalities and functional flows.
• Translate requirements into a list of system features and assess impact on existing/new systems and integrations.
• Develop functional solution design specifications for IT teams, incorporating compliance, security and governance standards.

Job Description

a) The senior Functional Solution Analyst (FSA) clarifies and translates business requirement to IT system functional requirement and system interaction and flows.FSA works collaboratively with the business users and technical delivery teams in developing scalable and flexible IT solutions including studying both business and system impact, creating user stories, functional design, test strategy, support delivery till goes live and post live support

b) Understand business context of the business requirement, assess if there are gaps, and work with business to update the business requirement document.The business requirement document must cover business needs, compliance needs, data governance and security needs

c) Familiar with existing IT system functionalities and functional flows

d) Based on the understood business requirements, conceptualize and translate to become list of system features needed

e) Based on the translated system feature list, analyze the impact on the existing IT systems, determine required changes to existing IT systems and/or new systems required to be built, as well as the necessary functional interaction / integration between the IT systems

f) Develop functional solution design specifications that IT Technical team can use and develop the corresponding technical solution design specification.The functional solution design specification must incorporate features and flows that fulfill bank’s compliance, security, data governance policy and standards established in the bank

g) Participate in project meetings to provide clarity and guidance to the technical delivery team on the functional solution design specification.Update the functional solution design specification as and when necessary

h) Develop test cases and test scripts to test and confirm the delivered IT systems work as per specified by the functional solution design specification

i) Analyze, assess impact, prioritize and update functional solution design document for any additional change requests raised by business

j) Assist in production deployment planning (e.g. IT and business approval, readiness check, live test)

When needed, provide post-go live functional support till stabilization

Functional Specifications Development

Review the documentation of Functional specifications is complete with proper analysis to avoid change requests and able to be understood by Developer / Vendor.

Assist to conduct FSD walk-through

Interface with all areas affected by the project

Participate in project meetings and provide ongoing clarity and guidance on functional solution design to technical delivery team

Delivery of high-quality Functional Requirement Specs to Technical team within the agreed timelines.

Ensure the changes or requirements are clearly communicated to the stakeholders.

Ability to derive specifications to map requirements from any source system to any destination system

System Testing

Prepare test cases and/or test Scripts

Walk-through testing scope and expectations with business users

Manage the UAT process to ensure end-to-end testing is covered to avoid production issues.

Problem Resolution

Identify potential problems and formulate pre-emptive mitigation plans.

Involve in post implementation and production support.
