Job summary

Altera in Penang invites an experienced Hardware Board Design Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware platform development. You will translate system requirements into circuit-level specifications, drive schematic capture, PCB layout, and bring-up across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role demands 8+ years in hardware design, strong expertise in processor, FPGA, and mixed-signal systems, and hands-on use of tools like Concept HDL, OrCAD, and Allegro.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in hardware board design life-cycle.
• Expertise in processor-, FPGA-, and SoC-based systems.
• Proficiency in circuit design, analysis, and simulation.
• Hands-on with major EDA tools and high-speed design principles.
• Exposure to thermal, mechanical, and platform bring-up is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of hardware platforms.
• Translate system requirements into circuit-level specifications and trade-offs.
• Review schematic, PCB layout rules, and high-speed routing constraints.
• Drive board bring-up, power-on, and platform debug with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with architects, verification, validation, and manufacturing.
