Job summary

Businesslist in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset specialist to lead daily and month-end asset accounting, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and timely closes.

The role requires a degree in accounting/finance, asset management experience, and strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge. Hybrid work and a permanent position are offered.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily and month-end asset accounting activities, including investment order settlements, capitalization, and depreciation postings.
• Ensure accurate financial postings, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and timely month-end close.
• Resolve complex asset accounting issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor recurring issues, drive process improvements, and escalate risks when required.
• Support process standardization, continuous improvement, and system enhancement initiatives.
• Assist with system testing, user training, change management, and process documentation updates.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Perform asset account and sub-ledger reconciliations, investigate variances, and validate asset master data.
• Support month-end reporting, audit readiness, and internal/external audit requests.
• Act as the subject matter expert for asset accounting matters and provide guidance to team members.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders to resolve issues and communicate process updates effectively.
