Job summary

Gen in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to architect and implement fintech-scale microservices and RESTful APIs that power MoneyLion’s regional digital finance experiences. You’ll help shape the backbone of our technology stack and work across platforms to deliver reliable, secure services.

You will lead development efforts, mentor teams, ensure compliance with security standards and regulations, optimize performance for scale and user experience, and stay ahead of fintech

Qualifications

• Experienced in Java, or any other OOP languages such as C#.NET, or PHP.
• Experienced in any relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL.
• Experienced in non-relational databases such as MongoDB, DocumentDB, or CosmosDB.
• Experienced in web APIs of reasonable complexity.
• Familiar with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• You have a Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• At least 4+ years of experience building and developing software would be preferred.

• Take on a leadership role in and mentor development teams, guiding project direction and architecture.
• Ensure software complies with security standards and financial regulations.
• Optimize application performance for scalability and user experience.

• Contribute to strategic planning with tech insights and innovation proposals.
