Senior Facilities Technician - M&E & Building Systems

Job summary

tHe Spring, Kuching is seeking a skilled facilities technician to monitor and operate M&E systems across the mall, perform preventive maintenance, and support day-to-day building operations.

You will work with contractors, handle repairs, and ensure safety and compliance; English and Bahasa Malaysia communication expected. This is a full-time on-site role within a high-traffic retail development focused on quality customer experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or other relevant technical fields.
• Competency certificates such as Wireman, Chargeman, or Gas Competent Person certification would be an added advantage.
• Preferably with at least 5 years of experience in building/facility maintenance or construction.
• Knowledge of procedures for carrying out routine repairs and servicing of building systems and facilities, including electrical services, ACMV systems, plumbing services, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and grease traps.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and strong teamwork skills with good discipline.
• Willing to work shift hours, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate Chiller Plant, AHUs, FCUs, Mechanical Ventilation Fans and other M&E equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance checklists, and equipment readings such as electricity, water, LPG, chillers, pumps, AHUs, lightings system and etc.
• Clean/replace filters, strainers, lighting, drainage sumps, and grease traps.
• Handle general building maintenance - painting, carpentry, plumbing, glazing, masonry.
• Monitor and switching of gas bank (Gas Farm).
• Assist with inspection, testing, and servicing of fire protection systems.
• Attend to minor mechanical and electrical defects reported by tenants.
• Respond to and resolve tenants' facility complaints promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when specialised repairs are required.
