Job summary

MainStreet Advisers Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a senior executive to join our deal team, with hands-on exposure to M&A, fundraising exercises and business valuation.

You will perform financial analysis, build valuation models (DCF, comps), prepare materials, and support due diligence and deal timelines, collaborating closely with clients and advisers in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in audit, corporate finance, transaction advisory, investment banking, or related advisory roles.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and related analysis.
• Good knowledge of business valuation and financial modelling.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment where workload fluctuates with deal phases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce client-ready materials.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.

We are looking for a senior executive role to join the team in deal-making, with hands-on exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), fundraising exercises and business valuation.

Key responsibilities

M&A / Fundraising Exercises

• Perform financial analysis and relevant research to develop a good grasp of the client's business and their industry positioning as their advisor
• Conduct research on industries, companies, competitors and market trends to facilitate deal transactions
• Preparation of M&A / fundraising materials, such as teasers, information memorandum and pitch decks
• Support the team overall in the deal process, including managing key information and documents, due diligence, timeline management and other relevant matters

Business Valuation

• Liaise closely with clients to gain reasonable understanding of the business, in order to justify any assumptions used and support valuation conclusions
• Build and maintain financial models to perform valuations using appropriate methodologies (e.g. DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions)
• Prepare valuation reports in line with relevant regulatory and professional standards
