Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) seeks a dedicated Project Coordinator to support planning, development, and coordination of Satok Digital Park, a flagship digital innovation district. You will work with internal teams and external partners to drive project workstreams, research initiatives and partnerships, ensuring timely delivery and accountability.
The role requires cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate objectives into actionable plans for
Satok Digital Park (SDP) is a major strategic initiative spearheaded by SDEC to transform Wisma Satok into a flagship digital innovation district that integrates entrepreneurship, digital industries, innovation ecosystems, community activation and future workforce development within a single connected platform. The initiative goes beyond the development or activation of a physical space, and involves the establishment of a sustainable ecosystem supported by strategic partnerships, programmes, services, commercial activities and a long-term operating model.
Given the scale, strategic importance and complexity of Satok Digital Park, the initiative involves multiple interdependent workstreams requiring coordination across various SDEC departments and external stakeholders. These include physical and space development, ecosystem development, stakeholder and partnership engagement, programme activation, innovation and industry engagement, operating and business model development, commercialisation, tenancy and space utilisation, revenue generation, and long-term operational sustainability.
The project also requires continuous engagement and coordination with a broad range of stakeholders, including property owners, building management, government agencies, industry players, technology companies, startups, ecosystem partners, investors and other strategic organisations. The strata-titled nature of the development further adds complexity to the coordination and implementation of the project.
In view of these requirements, a dedicated project resource is necessary to work alongside the General Manager in driving and coordinating the various SDP workstreams. The proposed position will provide dedicated execution and coordination capacity, supporting the General Manager in project planning, strategic research and benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, operating and commercial model development, programme activation, project monitoring and reporting.
The establishment of this position is particularly important as the project progresses from strategic planning and concept development towards implementation and operationalisation. Without dedicated project capacity, the substantial coordination, research, stakeholder follow-up and implementation requirements may need to be absorbed by existing officers as additional responsibilities to their ongoing departmental functions. This may result in fragmented ownership, competing priorities, slower follow-through and potential delays in progressing SDP’s key workstreams.
The proposed position will therefore complement the role of the General Manager by providing the necessary day-to-day project coordination, analytical and implementation support, while allowing the General Manager to maintain focus on overall strategic direction, management decision‑making, high‑level stakeholder engagement, inter‑departmental alignment and governance of the project.
Furthermore, the position will contribute to the development of SDP’s long‑term operating and business model, including the assessment of potential revenue streams, tenancy and space utilisation, strategic partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, ecosystem services and other commercialisation mechanisms. This is critical to ensuring that SDP is developed not merely as a physical facility, but as a vibrant, commercially viable and sustainable digital innovation district.
The proposed position is therefore required as a dedicated project resource to ensure that the scale and complexity of Satok Digital Park can be effectively managed, coordinated and progressed towards successful implementation and long‑term sustainability.
The appointment is also required on an immediate basis as Satok Digital Park has progressed beyond the initial conceptual stage and is currently moving into active planning, stakeholder engagement, development and implementation. Multiple workstreams and stakeholder engagements are already underway, with further activities and decisions expected to progress concurrently. Timely appointment of the dedicated resource is therefore critical to establish the necessary project coordination capacity, maintain continuity across ongoing workstreams, and ensure that key actions, engagements and deliverables are followed through without delay.
To support the General Manager in the planning, development, coordination and implementation of a major strategic digital innovation and ecosystem development project, encompassing digital innovation, entrepreneurship, industry engagement, physical space activation and ecosystem development.
The position will work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to coordinate and drive project workstreams, develop strategic partnerships, support programme and ecosystem activation, conduct market and industry research and benchmarking, and contribute to the development of sustainable business, operating and commercial models for the development and long‑term management of a physical innovation district.
The role requires an individual who is able to operate across strategy, project development, business and commercial planning, stakeholder engagement and implementation, and who can effectively translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, coordinated workstreams and tangible deliverables.
