Job summary

S P Setia is seeking an experienced accountant to join our finance team at Setia Alam. The role focuses on group financial reporting, consolidation, and regulatory compliance across our property development projects.

You will prepare monthly and annual financial statements, liaise with internal and external auditors, support budgeting and financial analysis, and help maintain internal controls and tax compliance for the group.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting with professional certification.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in property development and/or construction industry
• Experience in group consolidation / financial reporting.
• Knowledge of MFRS, financial/corporate reporting, and analytical review
• Preferably with at least 2 years of external audit experience
• Knowledge of taxation

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of group financial reports, statutory accounts, and related schedules, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• To perform financial consolidation activities including reviewing and reconciling financial information from subsidiaries to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation, addressing audit queries, and assisting in the timely completion of statutory and internal audits across the group.
• Prepare monthly Group Consolidated Financial Statements to ensure timely and accurate reporting to Management, Bursa Malaysia, Audit Committee, Board of Directors and other regulatory bodies.
• To support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, including the preparation of management and Board reporting materials.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports, Board papers, FIC papers, Group Actions Committee reports, annual budgets, half-year reviews, and other management reporting requirements.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• To prepare and analyse financial and management reports, and support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
• To liaise with external and internal auditors by providing information, responding to queries, and supporting audit activities to ensure timely completion.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior from time to time.
