Job summary

UEM Sunrise Berhad is seeking a corporate finance professional to support the evaluation and execution of M&A, joint ventures, divestments, and strategic investments undertaken by the Group. You will prepare detailed financial models and investment appraisals to support capital allocation and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Corporate Finance, Business, Economics or related.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or CFA are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed financial models, feasibility studies, scenario analyses and investment appraisals for development projects and strategic investments.
• Assess investment metrics including IRR, NPV, ROIC, payback period, profitability and cash flows.
• Perform valuation and sensitivity analyses to assess investment attractiveness, risk and value creation.
• Review assumptions, terms and projections to ensure robust analyses.
• Translate financial findings into clear recommendations to support Management and Board decisions.
• Support evaluation and execution of M&A, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments and partnerships.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet transaction deliverables and timelines.

Job description

• Support the evaluation and execution of M&A, joint ventures, divestments, strategic investments and other corporate transactions undertaken by the Group.
• Prepare financial models, project feasibility studies, investment appraisals, valuation and returns analyses to support capital allocation and investment decision-making.
• Support the preparation of Management, Board and Board Committee papers, transaction updates and briefing materials, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction and approval process.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed financial models, feasibility studies, scenario analyses and investment appraisals for development projects, strategic investments and other value-creation initiatives.
• Assess key investment metrics including IRR, NPV, ROIC, payback period, profitability, cash flows and funding requirements, as applicable.
• Perform valuation and sensitivity analyses to assess investment attractiveness, risk and potential value creation.
• Review underlying assumptions, commercial terms and financial projections to ensure investment proposals are supported by robust and appropriate analysis.
• Translate financial and commercial analysis into clear findings, risks, sensitivities and recommendations to support Management and Board decision-making.

Corporate Transactions

• Support the evaluation and execution of M&A, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments, strategic partnerships and other corporate exercises.
• Assist throughout the transaction lifecycle, including preliminary assessment, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiations, documentation and internal approvals.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, advisers, valuers, legal counsel, tax advisers and other external parties to ensure transaction deliverables and timelines are met.
• Assist in the preparation of Management, Board and Board Committee papers and transaction updates relating to corporate exercises and investment proposals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Corporate Finance, Business, Economics or other relevant disciplines.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or CFA, or candidates currently pursuing such qualifications, will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in corporate finance, investment appraisal, transaction advisory, M&A, financial planning and analysis, real estate investment or a related field will be advantageous.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills, with good understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis and investment returns.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with the ability to develop high-quality analytical and presentation materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial and commercial information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate financial analysis clearly and concisely.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, coordinate across functions and work within transaction-driven timelines.
