Job summary

AmBank Group is seeking an experienced ETL Developer to lead the design, development, and support of data integration across compliance technology applications.

You will optimize ETL pipelines, perform data mapping, and ensure stable operations through strong technical collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years in ETL development, data integration, or production support in enterprise tech.
• Strong hands-on ETL development, data transformation, and end-to-end data lifecycle skills.
• Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL and advanced SQL; able to optimise complex data jobs.
• Experience with batch processing, scheduling, and production job monitoring.
• Knowledge of SDLC, release management, version control, and change processes.

Job description

To lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of ETL processes and data integration solutions that enable accurate, timely, and reliable data processing across compliance technology applications. The role is responsible for delivering robust data pipelines, resolving production issues, supporting system enhancements and project implementation, and ensuring stable operations through strong technical expertise, effective collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• 1.Design, develop, enhance, and maintain ETL jobs, data pipelines, database scripts, and system interfaces to support accurate, complete, and timely data processing across compliance technology applications.
• 2.Perform source-to-target data mapping, transformation development, and technical implementation of data integration requirements in accordance with solution design and project timelines.
• 3.Analyse data flows, ETL performance, and processing issues to identify root causes, implement fixes, and improve overall system efficiency and reliability.
• 4.Develop and execute unit testing, support system integration testing and user acceptance testing, and ensure successful deployment and post-implementation stabilization of ETL changes.
• 5.Provide business-as-usual production support, including daily batch monitoring, incident troubleshooting, defect resolution, job recovery, and coordination with infrastructure, database, and application support teams.
• 6.Review and optimise ETL logic, SQL performance, and job scheduling to improve processing throughput, data quality, and operational stability.
• 7.Ensure code quality, version control, configuration consistency, and compliance with internal standards, governance requirements, and change management processes.
• 8.Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including ETL design specifications, mapping documents, process flows, operational procedures, and implementation artefacts.
• 9.Collaborate with application teams, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders to support delivery planning, issue resolution, and implementation of system enhancements.
• 10.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to strengthen ETL architecture, streamline support processes, and improve the resilience and scalability of data integration solutions.

Qualifications & Skills (including mandated licenses where applicable)

• 1.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2.Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant working experience in ETL development, data integration, database development, or production support within enterprise technology environments.
• 3.Strong hands-on experience in ETL development, source-to-target mapping, data transformation, data validation, and troubleshooting across the end-to-end data processing lifecycle.
• 4.Strong working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, advanced SQL scripting, and Unix/Linux commands, with the ability to develop, optimise, and support complex data processing jobs.
• 5.Experience in performance tuning, query optimisation, batch processing, scheduling, and production job monitoring in a controlled enterprise environment.
• 6.Good understanding of data integration patterns, file-based interfaces, API or web service concepts, and data flow between upstream and downstream systems.
• 7.Experience in business-as-usual application or production support, including incident investigation, defect resolution, job recovery, deployment support, and cross-team coordination.
• 8.Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing lifecycle, release management, version control, and change implementation processes.
• 9.Experience in the banking, financial services, or compliance technology domain will be an added advantage, particularly in environments involving regulatory, risk, AML, or transaction monitoring systems.
• 10.Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools for incident, problem, and change management would be advantageous.
• 11.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data and system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• 12.Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, application teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders.
• 13.Strong documentation, organisation, and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
