Job summary

Lumileds Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking an Equipment Engineer to initiate and lead equipment-related activities in manufacturing engineering. You will support engineering tasks and help safeguard process quality.

Qualifications

3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical problem-solving, project management, and clear technical communication.
Hands-on experience with backend equipment (PnP, AVI, AOI, EOL, laser ablation, glue dispense, SMT LED attach).
Understanding of reliability metrics (MTTR/MTBA/MTBF) and equipment data tracking.
Proficiency in PLC programming and system management (Keyence KV-X, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
Able to read electrical, mechanical, and PLC diagrams.
Ability to lead a team of AEs in troubleshooting and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Support all engineering activities assigned by Engineering Manager.
Develop equipment requirements and criteria for manufacturing lines to ensure quality and stability.
Approve equipment and set maintenance intervals for mass production.
Lead structured problem-solving using 5-Why and 8D methodologies.
Own CAPA process to track and validate long-term fixes.
Develop and optimize preventive/predictive maintenance programs and repair guidance.
Monitor MTTR, MTBA, MTBF and drive continuous improvement.
Drive CIP solutions to improve uptime, throughput, OEE and yield.
Comply with EHS requirements.
