Job summary

Materion Technology & Innovation engineer will conduct and support projects that develop new products and processes, covering both technical and operational aspects using Stage Gate processes. The role supports Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales and Marketing, with occasional customer interaction.

Candidate must hold a university degree in engineering or physics, have 7+ years of industry or research experience (optics industry preferred), strong English, and Python data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or physics or related field is required.
• 7+ years of industry or research experience is required.
• Experience in optics industry preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English mandatory.
• Programming skills in Python or similar language for data analysis.
• Experience with OptiLayer thin film design software is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve new technologies for the business unit.
• Support IP development and patent filing process as required.
• Lead smaller scale technology projects.
• Perform detailed cost analysis for new products and cost reduction opportunities for new processes.
• Develop SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs and Control Plans with Operations/Quality.
• Support products and sales with customer visits.
• Provide OPS support to bolster technical capability as needed.

## SummaryThe Technology & Innovation (T&I) engineer will conduct and support projects that develop new products and processes. This support will include both the technical and operational aspects of product and process development using or following Stage Gate process.The incumbent must be able to operate both individually and in teams and will support new products and process launches.
