Job summary

Venture – a global technology provider, seeking a Senior/Engineer R&D (Mechanical) in Tebrau, Johor. You will design complex plastic and sheet metal components, working with a seasoned multi-discipline R&D team on cross-functional programs.

Strong CAD skills and knowledge in plastics, metal parts and GD&T are required. You will contribute to innovative product features, quality and cost improvements, perform analyses and testing, and lead discussions on design modules.

Qualifications

• Masters/Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with relevant design experience.
• 3–5 years design experience preferred.
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, UG NX) and knowledge of plastics, rubber, casting and sheet metal parts.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and architect new highly-technological products.
• Collaborate with engineers to design mechanical components (plastics, sheet metal, castings).
• Innovate to improve feature, quality and cost.
• Execute design implementation and conduct performance and reliability testing.
• Perform static and dynamic analyses of components and assemblies.
• Devise test methodologies and experiments to verify designs.
• Author specifications and requirements for design modules.
• Approve fabricated prototypes.
• Lead project discussions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and support EHS programs.

We’re looking to add a Senior/Engineer R&D (Mechanical) in Tebrau, Johor.

Job Summary

Design complex plastic and sheet metal component for advance industrial, networking, consumer products, medical and life science products.

Work with a very experienced, multi-discipline R&D team to acquire the necessary technical and communication skills as part of a cross-functional and multi-discipline R&D program team.

Job Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and architect new highly-technological based products.
• Work with highly-qualified engineers to conceptualize and create new mechanical components which include plastic parts, sheet metal stampings, castings, rubber and may be required to create new mechanisms and subsystems etc.
• Innovate to achieve breakthrough in product feature, quality and cost.
• Execute design implementation and conduct performance & reliability testing.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis of components and assemblies using relevant tools.
• Devise test methodologies and conduct experiments to verify designs.
• Author of specification, requirements and implementation for design module assigned.
• Approval of the fabricated proto of assigned design module.
• Lead project discussions as and when required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company.
• Contribute to the workplace safety and health improvement for the employees, as well as environmental protection, by adhering to the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures, and helping to achieve EHS objectives and targets through participation of EHS programs;
• Participate in any special projects/programs as & when assigned by Company.

Education & Experience

Masters/Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3 – 5 years design experience.

What skills and experiences are we looking

• Able to do structural layout and design with 3D CAD (Creo 2.0, SolidWork & UG NX).
• Good knowledge of plastics, rubber, casting, extrusion and sheet metal parts.
• Well versed in DFM of plastic, sheet metal or die-cast parts.
• Well versed in GD&T and tolerance stack.
• Must have good attitude, passion in Mechanical design, self-driven to achieve the set goals, resourceful and team work.
• Must have good analytical skill and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and able to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Any other CAE simulation will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in medical ISO 13485 will be an advantage.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
