Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Penang is seeking a detail‑oriented engineer to develop design components for Process Design Kits (PDKs) and to deploy, support and maintain PDK files and runtime code used by EDA tools.

You will review process design rules, create specification data, and maintain test cases and release notes while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high quality, safe fabrication tooling and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical (University) degree.
• BS + 2-4 years of experience or MS + 1-3 year or PhD + 0-1 year.
• Experience in Process Design Kits, DRC/LVS/PEX familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop design components for PDKs.
• Develop, deploy, support, maintain PDK files and runtime code readable by EDA tools.
• Develop, deploy, support, maintain automation tools representing the Fab process.
• Review process design rules and SPICE model documents to create specification data for PDK development.
• Create and maintain test cases for PDK/DRC/LVS/PEX and perform quality assurance checks.
• Create and update release notes and application notes, documenting limitations and solutions.
• Ensure safety and security requirements are followed and collaborate on other projects as needed.

Your Job

• Responsible for developing design components for PDKs
• Develop, deploy, support, maintain, PDK (Process Design Kits) Collection of techfiles and runtime code readable by Electronic Design Automation tools
• Develop, deploy, support, maintain automation tools that represents the Fab process
• Review and interpret process design rules and SPICE model documents, in order to create specification data for the Process Design Kit development.
• Create and maintain test cases for Company’s Process Design Kits / DRC / LVS or PEX and perform quality assurance checks to ensure error free deliveries to customers.
• Create and update release notes and application notes, and to document any known limitations, issues, and solutions, in order to communicate relevant information on proper usage of the Process Design Kit components to customers.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health,
• Safety & Security requirements and programs
• Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed

Other Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality feature rich Process Design Kit (PDK).
• Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager:
