Job summary

Salcon Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to monitor site progress, coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and authorities. You will prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, update the program in Microsoft Project, and lead meetings with the client.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, over 5 years of relevant experience, and strong organisational skills to ensure on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• More than 5 years of relevant working experience for Senior Engineer role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the water/wastewater industry is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor C&S work progress at site to ensure timely implementation.
• Liaise with client, consultant, subcontractor, supplier and authorities.
• Identify, analyze and resolve on-site issues to minimise disruption.
• Prepare Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports for client submission.
• Update Project Progress in Work Programme using Microsoft Project weekly and monthly.
• Prepare or amend Work Programmes as required.
• Prepare Monthly Progress Meeting slides and present to client.
• Take Minutes of Meetings (MOM) for Technical Committee, discussions and Monthly Meetings.
• Follow up on all Action Required Items from MOM.
• Maintain and update Project Master List (Excel) daily for documents and correspondence.
• Coordinate with site team, HQ, consultant & subcontractors on progress and submissions.
• Assist Project Manager to prepare Operation Report for management reporting.
• Arrange internal coordination meetings with invitations and MS Teams links.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as requested by Project Manager & superior

Job description

• To monitor C&S work progress at site to ensure project to be implemented diligently and in timely manner.
• Liaison with project stakeholders including client, consultant, subcon, supplier and related authorities.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively identify, analyze, and resolve issues that arise on-site, ensuring smooth project progress and minimal disruption.
• Prepare Weekly Progress Report & Monthly Progress Report to submit to client.
• Update Project Progress in Work Programme via Microsoft Project on weekly and monthly basis to submit to client.
• Prepare/ amend Work Programmes (if required).
• Prepare Monthly Progress Meeting presentation slides and present to the client.
• Take Minutes of Meetings (MOM) for Technical Committee Meeting, Discussion Meetings & Monthly Progress Meeting with the client.
• Follow up on all Action Required Items from Minutes of Meetings (MOM).
• Maintain and update the Project Master List (excel file) on a daily basis by keying in and tracking all incoming and outgoing documents and project correspondence.
• Coordinate with site team, HQ team, consultant & subcon on site progress, outstanding items and submissions.
• Assist Project Manager to prepare Operation Report for management reporting.
• Arrange internal coordination meetings, including sending invitations, notifications, and Microsoft Teams meeting links.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• More than 5 years of relevant working experience for the Senior Engineer role.
• Proficient in Microsoft project.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organised and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in all aspects of work.
• Experience in the water/ wastewater industry is an added advantage.
