Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Commodity Engineer in Penang to drive supplier quality and cost improvements. You will partner with suppliers to monitor defects, lead corrective actions, and review component specifications for alternate parts and cost reductions.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery targets and quality standards are met, including audits, data analysis, and root cause investigations. Strong communication with customers and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Electrical Engineering background is an asset.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards (ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 13485).

Responsibilities

• Documents, maintains and improves quality processes.
• Provides advanced technical expertise for material problems.
• Visits suppliers to evaluate controls and reliability programs.
• Performs supplier audits and qualifications with commodity management.
• Manages supplier quality issues and development of preferred supplier list.
• Analyzes data to identify root causes and implement improvements.
• Supports multiple projects with changing deadlines.
