Job summary

Celestica is seeking a senior commodity engineer with extensive experience in electronic component quality. You will drive supplier quality improvements through defect monitoring, corrective actions, and supplier audits, interfacing with customers and suppliers on deep technical quality issues.

You will review component specifications to determine viable alternates, support cost reductions and shortage mitigation, and manage supplier performance data for internal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; six to eight years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of design and manufacturing processes for PCBs and subassemblies.
• Experience with ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 13485 compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Documents, maintains and improves process implementations.
• Provides advanced technical expertise for material problems.
• Visits suppliers to evaluate process controls and reliability programs.
• Performs supplier audits and qualifications with commodity management.
• Defines root causes and implements corrective actions to stabilize processes.
• Gathers and analyzes data to solve quality issues.
