Job summary

Serveco Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in renewable energy and solar PV to support hospital energy systems, EMS implementation and EMGS certification.

You will design, install, commission and optimize PV systems; monitor performance; oversee electrical infrastructure maintenance; coordinate energy projects; and mentor junior engineers while researching new technologies to boost efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably with solar energy and energy management.
• Experience with Energy Management System (EMS), EMGS or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical infrastructure and energy management principles.
• Familiarity with Malaysian energy regulations and sustainability standards.
• Proficiency with energy management software for monitoring consumption.
• Professional certifications such as CEM, REEM or GCPV are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management and communication skills.
• Healthcare sector or critical infrastructure experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, installation, commissioning and optimisation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain solar systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Oversee and participate in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including backup power systems, lighting and other electrical components.
• Support the implementation of energy management strategies in line with EMGS requirements.
• Conduct energy audits, analyse energy consumption data and identify opportunities for energy savings.
• Coordinate electrical and renewable energy projects to ensure timely completion, cost efficiency and quality standards.
• Liaise with external contractors, equipment vendors and internal stakeholders on electrical maintenance and energy improvement projects.
• Support and guide junior engineers and maintenance personnel on technical matters, solar energy systems and troubleshooting.
• Research and recommend new technologies and improvements to enhance energy efficiency, system reliability and sustainability.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in renewable energy, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, electrical infrastructure and energy management.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the development, maintenance and optimization of the hospital's electrical and renewable energy systems. This position will also contribute to the implementation of the Energy Management System (EMS) and achievement of the Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) certification.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience in managing or supporting an Energy Management System (EMS), particularly EMGS or equivalent certification, will be an advantage.

Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical infrastructure and energy management principles.

Familiarity with Malaysian energy regulations, sustainability standards and relevant compliance requirements.

Proficiency in energy management software and tools for monitoring and analysing energy consumption.

Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) or Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Design Course (GCPV) will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.

Experience in the healthcare sector or other critical infrastructure environments will be highly desirable.
