Job summary

Hireon in Malaysia's New Energy division seeks a proactive Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer to lead design and execution of Solar PV, EV charging, and BESS projects. You will oversee SLDs, wiring diagrams, and studies, and support on-site activities from installation to commissioning across Malaysia.

You will perform PVsyst/ETAP/Helioscope simulations, specify electrical equipment, and ensure compliance with ST licensing. Occasional overseas travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and engineering for Solar PV, EV Charging, and BESS systems.
• Develop and review Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, load flow, and protection studies.
• Perform system simulations and optimization using PVsyst, ETAP, and Helioscope.
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Supervise subcontractors and site activities to meet safety and quality requirements.
• Support business development with technical proposals and feasibility studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and monitor project progress.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer to join our New Energy team under the Solar EPCC division. This role focuses on electrical engineering aspects of Solar PV, EV Charging Infrastructure, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and other new energy projects. The successful candidate will lead system design, engineering analysis, technical proposal support, and on-site project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design and engineering for Solar PV, EV Charging, and BESS systems.
• Develop and review Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, load flow, and protection studies.
• Perform system simulations and optimization using PVsyst, ETAP, and Helioscope.
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Solar PV, EV infrastructure, BESS, or EPCC projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design standards and grid connection codes.
• Hands-on experience with PVsyst, ETAP, Helioscope, AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) licensing and compliance.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and independent.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Malaysia and occasionally overseas.
