Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to manage enterprise Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB environments. You will administer, optimize, and support databases across the service build engineering team, ensuring high availability and robust backups.

The role requires strong SQL and Unix/Linux skills, proven experience with performance tuning, and the ability to collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on deployments and post-build operations.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of database administration/engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB.
• Strong SQL and Unix/Linux skills.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Ability to collaborate with application and infrastructure teams and follow change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB environments.
• Install, configure, upgrades, patching, and migrations of databases.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database performance.
• Manage backup, recovery, and maintenance activities.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience initiatives.
• Perform database changes in accordance with change management and procedures.
• Work with application and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Support post-build activities, deployments, and production database operations.
• Maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management.
