Job summary

Wilhelmsen group is seeking a Senior Data Protection Expert to join our Global Business Services team in a hybrid role after probation. You will partner with business and technology stakeholders to implement robust security controls, safeguard critical information assets, and enable secure digital transformation across the organization.

The role focuses on information protection, data governance, and AI security with no people management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information protection, data security, privacy, or related fields.
• Experience implementing data protection and governance controls in an enterprise environment.
• Understanding of information classification, data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, rights management, insider risk, and information lifecycle management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A structured, risk-based, and business-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Develop and maintain information classification, protection, and secure handling practices.
• Reduce the risk of sensitive information loss, misuse, or unauthorized disclosure.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in information protection, data security, data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, or information management.
• Proven experience implementing data protection and governance controls within an enterprise environment.
• Good understanding of information classification, data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, rights management, insider risk, and information lifecycle management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A structured, risk-based, and business-oriented approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based productivity and collaboration platforms.
• Exposure to AI security, secure AI adoption, or AI governance initiatives.
• Experience working in a global or complex organisational environment.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, and information governance frameworks and requirements.
• Relevant certifications in security, privacy, governance, or cloud technologies are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the Microsoft technology ecosystem.
