AirAsia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a data engineer to develop and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity. You will collaborate with Product, Business and Analytics teams to support data transformation needs and resolve data-related issues.

The role emphasizes ETL across diverse data sources, SQL/NoSQL expertise, and familiarity with containerization and cloud services (GCP/AWS/Azure). Strong coding skills and distributed computing knowledge are essential.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MS/PhD in IT, Mathematics, Science or Engineering discipline.
• Up to 5+ yrs relevant experience beyond first degree.
• Experience with Python, R, Java, C/C++ and Scala.
• Familiar with data ETL from a wide variety of data sources.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Experience with messaging and stream processing.
• Experience with OO scripting languages.
• Familiar with containerisation and orchestration tools.
• Familiar with one of GCP, AWS or Azure and its tools and services.
• Ability to work under pressure and balance speed, reliability and interpretability.
• Proficient with G Suite, Git, Jira, Confluence.
• Experience with distributed computing principles.
• Able to select and integrate big data tools and frameworks.
• Familiar with design thinking methods.
• Openness to experimenting with new techniques and ways of working.
