Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead electrical design for data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will prepare and review SLDs, schematics, layouts and installation drawings, and perform sizing calculations for transformers, UPS and cables.

The role requires collaboration with clients, consultants and vendors, ensuring design compliance with IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with 8+ years preferred for senior candidates.
• Strong experience in electrical power distribution and engineering design.
• Data centre or mission-critical facility experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and electrical design practices.
• Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit/BIM and electrical calculation software are a plus.
• Able to review electrical SLDs, schematics and technical drawings independently.
• Communicate confidently with clients, consultants, vendors and other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the electrical design and engineering activities for data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review electrical SLD, schematics, equipment layouts, cable containment layouts and electrical installation drawings.
• Perform and review electrical engineering calculations including load schedules, transformer sizing, UPS sizing, cable sizing and short-circuit calculations.
• Review and coordinate electrical power distribution systems including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, busduct/busway, generators and distribution boards.
• Review vendor submissions and respond to technical queries, RFIs and consultant/client comments.
• Participate in design reviews, technical coordination and client meetings; identify risks and propose solutions.
