Job summary

ABB Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a senior Electrical Field Service Engineer to execute low-to-mid complexity service work in data centers and electrical systems.

You will plan and perform on-site and remote tasks, troubleshoot, and ensure timely, quality resolutions for ABB customers. The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of field service experience, with strong UPS and electrical systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or related field.
• More that 5 years of field service experience is highly preferred for senior.
• In-depth knowledge of UPS, electrical systems, PTU systems and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
• Travel Flexibility: Will travel to customer sites and data centers across Malaysia, with openness to regional travel across Southeast Asia if required
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and internal teams during system maintenance or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.
• Installation and commissioning of UPS, electrical system within data centers, ensuring proper setup, integration, and optimal performance.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and restore cooling systems swiftly to minimize disruptions to critical data center operations.
