Job summary

Intel Corporation in Malaysia, Penang, seeks an Experienced CPU Design Engineer to join a team delivering the next generation high-performance Atom core blocks. You will drive synthesis, floorplanning, timing closure, and power reduction while collaborating with RTL, micro-architecture, and circuit teams.

The role requires strong analytic and communication skills, with a track record in physical design at scale and comfort working under aggressive schedules in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of CPU physical design and timing verification.
• Synthesis/APR flows on multi-voltage high-frequency designs, polygon editing.
• Tcl scripting.
• Noise, cross-talk, IR and electromigration checks.
• Floorplanning, physical design and timing closure.
• Formal equivalence, DRC/LVS checks.

Responsibilities

• Logic synthesis and place and route for CORE IP blocks.
• Floor-planning and routing studies with timing analysis.
• Work on low-power techniques and power reduction.
• Physical verification closure of blocks/sub-systems.
• Write scripts for data analysis and recipe creation.
• Collaborate with micro-architecture, RTL and circuit teams.
