Job summary

Flowserve in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant who will report to the Finance Manager locally and work with a team. You will support the local accounting/finance structure, working directly with the operations and assisting other facilities as needed.

Responsibilities include month-end close for inventory, purchasing and AR, project margin reviews, cost and margin analysis, standard costing management, asset accounting and balance sheet reconciliations, and data analysis for

Qualifications

• Strong cost accounting knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments.
• Good understanding of accounting policies and controls.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office tools.
• Clear and concise communication skills.Required
• Ability to challenge the norm and drive process improvements.
• Experience with ERP systems: Oracle, BPC or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Month end reporting and close for inventory, purchasing, and AR.
• Project accounting: review margins and processing monthly.
• Sales and margin analysis and data-driven insights.
• Process month end journals, accruals, prepayments, and recharges.
• Fixed asset accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage standard costing system and improvements.
• Data analysis for cost and manufacturing activities.

• Month end reporting
• Perform month end close for Inventory/Purchasing and Accounts Receivable close and reconciliation
• Project accounting - monthly review margins and processing
• Sales and margin analysis
• Processing month end journals accruals/prepayments/recharges
• Fixed Asset accounting
• Reconcile month end bookings
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Standard costing system
• Management and ownership of standard costing system
• Data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business
• And any other duties assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong Cost Accounting knowledge and experience
• General knowledge of accounting policies
• Proficiency in Excel other MS Office products
• Clear and concise communications skills
• Ability to challenge the norm and look for better solutions/processes
• Systems knowledge: Oracle, BPC, SAPwill be beneficial
• BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience
