Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a versatile writer who can do both social and long-form. Content that performs on social, backed by legitimate research and reporting.

Write social content (threads, hooks, carousels, video scripts) and long-form in BM and English (features, explainers, op-eds). You will develop key messages with the Editor-in-Chief, research and fact-check before content writeup, and adapt long-form for social.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional writing experience, including long-form.
• Portfolio demonstrating social content and long-form work.
• Fluent in written BM and English; able to write original copy in both.
• Strong understanding of social performance and audience engagement.
• Willing to take on ad hoc tasks and work long hours when required, with compensation.
• Experience with EPF, SOCSO, EIS compliance.

• Take pieces through editorial and client approval.

• Write statements and corrections at short notice.
• Break long pieces into short-form for social.
• Write to the house tone of voice and help keep the guide current.

About you

• 5+ years writing professionally, including long-form
• Newsroom background not required. Digital publishing, content studio or freelance experience all count
• Portfolio with both social content and long-form work
• Fluent written BM and English, writing original copy in both
• Good understanding of what performs on social
• Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders
• Sound judgement on sensitive subjects
• Able to take on ad hoc tasks and work long hours when required, with compensation
• EPF, SOCSO, EIS
