We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, automation, and operational resilience. It is not simply about designing control systems. It is about creating the digital backbone that enables some of the world's most critical facilities to operate reliably, efficiently, and safely. As a trusted Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead the development of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), partnering with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated control strategies for complex data centres, critical infrastructure, and high-performance commercial environments. From concept design through commissioning, you will influence how buildings think, respond, and perform.

What You'll Be Driving

• Architect smart and resilient BMS and EPMS solutions that support the operational demands of mission-critical facilities.
• Transform complex engineering requirements into practical, robust automation strategies that optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop control philosophies, system architectures, functional narratives, and operating sequences that support normal, degraded, and emergency modes of operation.
• Lead the development and interpretation of P&IDs, instrumentation requirements, interlocking philosophies, and control system integration strategies.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, digital, commissioning, and client teams to ensure seamless system integration across the entire facility ecosystem.
• Assess existing facilities, conduct technical due diligence and condition assessments, and provide strategic recommendations for system enhancement or modernization.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational readiness, ensuring systems perform as intended under real-world operating conditions.
• Act as a Senior Technical Authority and client-facing engineering partner throughout the project lifecycle.

Here’s what you’ll need

You understand that controls engineering is more than PLC logic and system programming. It is about enabling critical environments to operate with confidence.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience delivering BMS, EPMS, or industrial automation solutions.
• Demonstrated experience supporting mission-critical environments such as data centres, critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, or high-availability environments.
• Strong expertise in
• Control philosophy development
• BMS and EPMS architecture design
• P&ID development and interpretation
• Instrumentation specification and selection
• Control sequencing and interlocking strategies
• PLC, DDC, and automation system design
• System integration and operational analytics

Highly Valued Experience

• Working knowledge of data centre and critical environment standards, including ISO 22237 and EN 50600.
• Experience integrating controls across HVAC, electrical distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, life-safety interfaces, and critical monitoring platforms.
• Exposure to DCIM platforms, advanced analytics, digital monitoring environments, or converged BMS/EPMS ecosystems.
• Proven ability to identify, analyse, and resolve complex system interactions across multiple disciplines.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with confidence operating in client-facing and multidisciplinary project environments.
