Job summary

Sunrate is seeking a Team Lead, Compliance Operations in Malaysia to lead day-to-day compliance activities, manage workloads during shifts, and ensure high-quality case handling. You will perform senior reviews, guide analysts, and support due diligence, sanctions screening, and ongoing monitoring while aligning with internal policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in KYC/AML/CDD/EDD and sanctions screening.
• Experience performing senior-level or quality reviews of compliance cases.
• Experience coaching or guiding junior team members.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day compliance operations during the assigned shift, helping to manage workloads, priorities and operational queues.
• Perform senior-level reviews and handle more complex or escalated compliance cases.
• Support customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, ongoing monitoring and other compliance operations as required.
• Provide hands-on guidance and support to analysts on case handling, procedures and operational requirements.
• Review work for quality, accuracy and consistency and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Act as a first point of escalation for operational questions and routine case issues.
• Identify recurring quality issues, knowledge gaps or operational challenges and elevate them appropriately.
• Support consistent application of internal policies, procedures and operating standards.
• Assist with the onboarding, development, and day-to-day support of new and junior analysts.
• Support effective communication and handover between shifts and teams.
• Contribute to operational reporting, record-keeping and tracking of key issues and escalations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Compliance Operations and other relevant functions.
• Support process improvements and contribute to the continued development of Sunrate’s compliance operations framework.
