Job summary

CloudMile is hiring a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join the CloudOps team in a customer-facing role. You will be the technical lead for smaller clients, resolve complex compute and networking issues across multiple clouds, and drive automation through IaC.

The role requires after-hours coverage and strong proficiency in GCP/AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes. You will mentor Tier 1/2 engineers, deliver weekly and quarterly reports, and participate in on-call rotations with weekly stipends

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Cloud Infra Ops, SRE or DevOps, or 6+ years in senior Linux/Unix with enterprise cloud ownership.
• Deep operational proficiency in GCP or AWS, with cross-training to other clouds.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management.
• Solid IaC experience with Terraform and scripting in Python or Bash.
• Strong networking, DNS, TLS/SSL, VPC, and diagnostic tooling knowledge.
• Observability experience with Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Certifications in AWS or Google Cloud required (at least one).
• Excellent English communication; able to present RCAs to clients.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact and service lead for clients.
• Operate and troubleshoot multi-cloud environments across GCP/AWS/Azure/Alicloud.
• Oversee day-to-day health of client cloud environments and preempt issues.
• Coordinate incidents with CSPs and vendors and communicate with customers.
• Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly service performance reports.
• Design and implement IaC and automation to improve delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge base.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call with shift-based workload.
