Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer to provide day-to-day support for our cloud estate, with AWS as the primary platform in a multi-cloud, hybrid environment. You will work with architecture and security teams on onboarding, maintain Terraform IaC, and use Python/Bash/PowerShell to automate tasks.

The role includes on-call coverage across time zones and coaching the operations team. We welcome hands-on engineers with strong AWS experience, Terraform, EKS/Kubernetes, Linux/Windows, and

Qualifications

• Strong AWS experience from an infrastructure support perspective in a large enterprise environment.
• Azure experience is heavily preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
• Genuine interest in more than one cloud platform.
• Hands-on support of Windows and Linux servers, both cloud-hosted and on-premises.
• Terraform experience is a must, including maintaining and extending infrastructure as code.
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Containerisation experience with EKS/Kubernetes in production.
• Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, patching and vulnerability management.
• Backup and data protection experience with recovery and resilience.
• Experience migrating on-premises services to cloud.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Cloud billing acumen and cost-optimisation awareness.
• Experience with AI/automation tooling in a cloud context.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence, and enterprise change processes.
• Willingness to participate in on-call across international time zones.

Responsibilities

• Provide second- and third-level support for AWS workloads, and for Azure and other cloud platforms as they come into support.
• Support existing application VMs and containerised workloads, including EKS, covering patching, backup, monitoring and routine tasks.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis and see resolution through to a high standard.
• Build the support model for new workloads, including runbooks, monitoring, and handover criteria.
• Work with architecture and project teams to ensure security, supportability and production readiness.
• During quieter periods, support the architecture team with design input, proof of concepts and testing.
• Support cloud security, patching and audit evidence in line with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain infrastructure as code in Terraform and automate tasks using Python/Bash/PowerShell.
• Manage accounts, RBAC and policy compliance; monitor cloud cost and identify optimization opportunities.
• Assist migrating traditional on-premises services to cloud and ensure stable support afterward.
• Produce documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles for supported services.
• Act as escalation point to cloud vendor support and participate in on-call rota across time zones.
