Job summary

Ecloudvalley Technology Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a capable Cloud Engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex AWS projects, translating architectures into detailed designs and implementation plans.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable cloud solutions while collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 4+ years in cloud engineering or related roles delivering complex cloud projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services (compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring).
• Strong cloud networking knowledge (VPCs, DNS, load balancing, VPN, hybrid).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Scripting with Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Git-based development and version control workflows.
• Linux/Windows environments and OS-level troubleshooting.

Job description

Lead the technical delivery of high-complexity cloud projects and workstreams.

Translate approved solution architectures and HLDs into detailed technical designs, LLDs, and implementation plans.

Lead hands-on implementation, deployment, migration, and troubleshooting of AWS infrastructure and services.

Act as a technical lead for project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Collaborate with customers, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and engineering team to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design & Technical Delivery

Translate approved solution architectures and HLDs into detailed LLDs and implementation plans.

Design and implement scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective AWS solutions.

Evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS services, architectural patterns, and deployment strategies.

Identify technical risks, gaps, and implementation constraints and propose appropriate solutions.

Lead the hands-on deployment and configuration of AWS infrastructure and services.

Execute cloud migration and modernization activities.

Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.

Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, and security issues.

Conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.

3. Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

Lead technical workstreams and manage technical risks, dependencies, and priorities.

Mentor and coach junior cloud engineers through project implementation and technical development.

Review technical designs and implementation approaches to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements.

Lead technical discussions, workshops, and solution reviews with customers and stakeholders.

Communicate technical concepts, design decisions, and implementation considerations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaborate with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and engineering teams to ensure successful technical delivery.

Prepare and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, LLDs, runbooks, and handover documentation.

Promote engineering best practices, cloud standards, and consistent delivery practices across the team.

Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved delivery efficiency.

Contribute to reusable frameworks, templates, and deployment accelerators.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or related roles, with demonstrated experience delivering complex cloud projects.

Proven hands-on experience delivering cloud migration, modernization, or infrastructure projects.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services, including compute, networking, storage, security, and monitoring.

Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, routing, DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.

Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

Experience with Git-based development and version control workflows.

Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows environments, with the ability to troubleshoot OS-level issues as required during cloud implementation and migration projects.
