Job summary

Salt is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to join a global enterprise technology team responsible for an internal cloud orchestration platform used across multiple engineering teams.

This hands-on role focuses on Python development, building full‑stack applications and driving architectural decisions while collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Developer to join a global enterprise technology team responsible for developing and evolving an internal cloud orchestration platform used across multiple engineering teams.

This is a hands-on role for a strong Python developer who enjoys building products, solving engineering problems, and working at the intersection of software development and cloud technologies. You'll own a significant part of a business-critical platform, shaping new features, making architectural decisions, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation.

You'll become the product owner for a key internal cloud platform that supports engineering teams across the organisation. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful platform development, influence technical direction, and work alongside a highly experienced engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on with software development.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and enhance an internal cloud orchestration platform using Python.
• Build full-stack applications, APIs and cloud-integrated services.
• Own new feature development from design through deployment.
• Evaluate feature requests and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable platform capabilities.
• Develop integrations with cloud services, GitHub and internal engineering tools.
• Contribute to platform automation, cloud provisioning and developer productivity initiatives.
• Help drive continuous improvements across platform performance, usability and reliability.

What we're looking for

• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience developing applications that integrate with public cloud services (Azure preferred, GCP or AWS also considered).
• Full-stack development experience with modern APIs and web applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code and application design.
• Comfortable making technical decisions and taking ownership of platform capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or containerised applications.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or AI platform capabilities.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, cloud automation tools or self-service platforms.
• Experience working within enterprise cloud environments.
