Job summary

SpaceCrew Finance Company: MyCredit UA | OnCredit LK | ClickCredit UA | Monto UA is seeking a Chief Accountant in Malaysia to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting/finance (ACCA/CPA/CIMA/ICAEW/MIA advantageous) and 3+ years in financial services or microfinance, with strong Excel and accounting software skills. Fluent English is mandatory; Malay is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification is an advantage.
• Experience: 3+ years in accounting or finance. Financial services, lending, microfinance, or fintech preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian micro-lending regulations, MFRS, tax rules, reporting obligations.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or SQL). Understanding of credit operations and impairment/ECL under MFRS 9.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare full financial statements, management reports, tax filings, regulatory submissions.
• Compliance: Communicating with auditors, tax authorities, regulators to ensure licensing compliance.
• Process Management: Establish accounting procedures, internal controls, and reconciliation for lending operations.
• Languages: Fluent English mandatory; Malay a plus.
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, reliability, problem-solving, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for the microfinance business.
• Ensure tax compliance and regulatory submissions.
• Establish and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulators as needed.
• Manage reconciliation processes for lending operations.
