Responsibilities

Job Description

• Finance Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS and company policies.
  • Manage cash flow, payment schedules, and treasury activities.
  • Support management with financial data, variance analysis, and performance insights.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities for statutory and compliance matters.
  • Handle all accounting activities related to hire purchase arrangements, including recognition of interest income/expense, principal payments, and amortization schedules.
  • Maintain detailed hire purchase records and schedules, ensuring proper classification and accounting treatment.
  • Reconcile hire purchase accounts and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and financing agreements.
  • Prepare reports on outstanding HP balances, interest components, and repayment status for management review.
  • Liaise with financial institutions on HP documentation, settlement, and refinancing matters.
• Process Improvement & Compliance:
  • Streamline accounting and operational workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory regulations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance operations or hire purchase accounting.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and hire purchase accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, SQL, Oracle) and MS Excel.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
