Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Category Manager to lead CNC Machining and mechanical categories in Penang. The role focuses on developing strategic sourcing plans, optimizing total cost of ownership, and driving supplier performance across local and regional operations.

Responsibilities include end-to-end localization for critical components, NPIs sourcing, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in related field.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement/ category management experience.
• Experience with machined parts, metal fabrication, or similar technical commodities.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot, XLOOKUP) and familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with supplier localization and multi-country supply chains.
• Contract negotiations and supplier performance management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Lead full-cycle sourcing activities including market analysis, supplier evaluation, RFPs/RFQs, negotiation and contract execution.
• Conduct spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to align category plans with business needs.
• Lead localization and supplier transfer for critical components and oversee multi-site coordination.
