Job summary
Flex is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in Batu Kawan, Penang to specify, design and maintain automation equipment and applications for manufacturing. You will drive uptime, create manuals and troubleshooting guides, and collaborate across engineering and operations to optimize automation performance.
Required are a Bachelor’s in electrical or mechanical engineering with 5+ years in automation within high-tech electronics, plus hands-on mechatronics, PLC programming, and camera-recognition
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar field.
- Minimum 5 years in automation engineering within high-tech electronics.
- Mechatronics design with robot/cobot experience.
- Experience with automated control systems and PLC programming.
- Experience developing devices with automatic camera recognition.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and modify automation equipment and tooling for manufacturing.
- Create manuals, drawings, models, and maintenance plans for automation.
- Maintain uptime through preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Learn and enhance skills across various automation equipment types.
- Provide feedback to improve process and equipment designs.
- Coordinate daily activities to maximize equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to support production.
- Contribute to automation framework for new products and processes.
