Job summary

PwC Malaysia is seeking a Senior Associate in Assurance (Sustainability) to lead sustainability assurance engagements for financial services clients, including banks and insurers. You will assess data, controls and reporting against IFRS S1/S2, MCCG and TCFD, guiding teams to deliver high-quality assurance engagements.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• A recognised professional qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA, CPA Australia or equivalent) or active progress towards one.
• At least two years of experience in external audit, sustainability assurance, ESG reporting or related field.
• Experience with banks, insurers, asset managers or financial services preferred.
• Familiarity with IFRS S1/S2, ISSA 5000, MCCG, TCFD, GRI and related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver sections of sustainability assurance engagements for financial services clients.
• Understand client business models, governance, products and regulatory environment; identify reporting risks.
• Review disclosures against frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate governance, processes and data controls for sustainability reporting.
• Coordinate fieldwork, monitor timelines and raise issues with engagement manager.
• Coach juniors and review work to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Communicate findings clearly to client teams and prepare concise summaries for leaders.
