Job summary

AmBank Group is seeking a Senior API Specialist to design, develop, and manage robust APIs that support our digital strategy and banking operations. You will lead API architecture, enforce security, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver scalable services.

The role requires strong expertise in RESTful design, microservices, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and regulatory compliance. You will mentor junior teams and contribute to payment system support in a dynamic banking environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise-grade APIs for banking or finance.
• Strong understanding of REST, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and identity management.
• Proficiency in middleware and integration patterns for secure data exchange.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade APIs to support banking operations, digital channels, and external integrations.
• Ensure all API solutions adhere to internal security policies, regulatory standards, and data privacy requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams to translate requirements into API specs.
• Manage the full API lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Integrate APIs with identity and access management systems using OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
• Enforce API governance frameworks, including version control and documentation standards.
• Monitor API performance, availability, and usage, and resolve technical issues.
• Evaluate and recommend API management platforms and tools suitable for banking environments.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior developers and integration teams.
• Provide primary support for payment system applications and respond to service requests.
