Job summary

Hyppies seeks a senior architect to design and lead payments systems at national scale in Malaysia. You will own end-to-end architecture for API gateways, tokenisation, and security across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will spearhead brownfield modernization, including legacy system decomposition, database re-platforming, and API-first transformations, while guiding governance for distributed messaging patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience designing payments systems and APIs for large-scale use.
• Strong security architecture knowledge is required.
• Proven ability to modernize legacy architectures in cloud/on-prem environments.

Job description

What you will be doing:

• Design end-to-end architectures for mission critical payments services (API gateways, tokenisation frameworks, etc) to support national transaction volume
• Knowledge designing payment system security architecture
• Lead the architecture design for brownfield modernisation, including legacy system decomposition, database re-platforming, API-first transformation, etc

What we're looking for:

• End-to-end ownership over financial transaction systems or core banking systems
• Knowledge of distributed system architecture, API design and governance, event-drive and asynchronous messaging patterns
• Deep understanding of security architecture
• Experience working in cloud of hybrid infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or understanding of on prem infrastructure (Mainframe, Cobol, AS400, etc)
• Extensive experience and knowledge of Java
