Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia (MBTMY) is seeking a Senior Android App Developer to contribute to a modern Android SDK and application ecosystem. You will apply Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Clean Architecture to design, build and maintain Android solutions across modules, libraries and services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of Android development experience.
• Strong hands-on Kotlin experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Deep experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow and StateFlow.
• Experience building Android UIs with Jetpack Compose and design-system components.
• Solid understanding of Clean Architecture and multi-layer mapping.
• Experience in SDK or library development and API design.
• Familiarity with Maven/Artifactory publishing and Gradle for multi-module builds.
• Knowledge of dependency injection (Koin) and networking with Retrofit/OkHttp.
• Good unit-testing discipline and CI quality gates.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and enhance Android applications and SDK components.
• Develop Android solutions using Kotlin and modern asynchronous programming practices.
• Implement reactive flows with Coroutines, Flow and StateFlow.
• Build UIs with Jetpack Compose and reusable design-system components.
• Apply Clean Architecture across data, domain and presentation layers.
• Support migration from MVVM to Clean Architecture.
• Develop and maintain published Android SDKs with backward compatibility and versioning.
• Manage SDK publishing through Maven and Artifactory.
• Implement dependency injection using Koin or equivalents.
• Develop networking with Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Maintain complex Gradle configurations across multi-module apps.
• Contribute to unit-tested delivery and automated quality checks.
