Job summary

Evonik in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Senior Analyst, Cost Accounting to manage daily cost accounting transactions and support month-end close. You will collaborate with Local Financial Services to ensure timely and accurate closures across Asia Pacific and EMEA regions, applying IFRS and general accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Holds a Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 4-5 years of relevant working experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS and General Accounting principles.
• Experience working in SAP or other major ERP systems.
• Strong communications skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform Cost Accounting transactions accurately on a daily basis.
• Execute month-end close steps, and quarter/year-end close activities.

Review and escalate local specific variances to Key Accountant/Team Lead for further assessment and discussion* Ensure queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner* Perform troubleshooting of issues and challenges related to Cost Accounting processes* Execute Internal Control System according to the guideline and ensure the Internal Control System documentation is in place* Supporting Local Financial Services in terms of internal and external audit* Support in the implementation of project initiatives rollout by Global team* Support standardization across regions and globally by focusing on alignment of end to end business process areas, system and tools.* Continuously explore alternatives in driving process improvement and harmonization in areas of operation* Undertake any ad hoc assignment, projects and migrations that may be assigned from time to time.* Able to coach and provide guidance/ solutions if there are issues faced by the analyst/ junior analyst on work related matters.
